Rungsted Golf Club since 1937

Rungsted Golf Club was founded in the mid-1930s by a small group of golfers. They dreamed of building a golf course in beautiful surroundings - and in Rungsted it became a reality when in 1937 they built an 18-hole golf course designed by the architect C.A. MacKenzie.

Rungsted Golf Club is today an exclusive golf club with a high quality level, where price and quality must go hand in hand.

The members mainly come from North Zealand and have chosen Rungsted as their preferred club, although the club is among the more expensive to join.

Nice visit to the course
In the late ´90s as well as in the millennium year 2000, Rungsted Golf Club was selected to host the SAS Invitational, a miniature Ryder Cup between Scandinavia and the rest of the world.

The tournament was held immediately after The Open, with the world's best players participating, several of them British Open winners such as Mark O'Meara, Paul Lawrie, Tiger Woods and Stewart Cink. One of the many exciting matches was espcially the one between Tiger Woods and Thomas Bjørn.

At the spot where Tiger Woods' drive (3-wood) ended on the 18th hole, approximately 280 meters out, there is a plate in the grass with the name and date commemorating Tiger Woods' visit to Rungsted Golf Club.
